African Game Lodge offers luxurious, well-fitted chalets and safari tents. Facilities include daily game and nature drives, swimming pool, visitors lounge and lodge area, extensive nature walks, hiking, birding, mountain biking and paint ball.

African Game Lodge offers various accommodation options. From secluded luxury tents to spacious chalets, catering for large families to couples.

1 BEDROOM CHALETS

Springbok Chalet - This modern Karoo style chalet offers the perfect hideaway from city life with a romantic bedroom that has a double bed with percale linen. The bathroom has a spacious bath and separate shower with eco-friendly guest amenities and bath towels provided.

A comfortable lounge boasts a fireplace for those cosy winter evenings and a dining room table for romantic dinners. The kitchen is equipped with basic amenities for self-catering purposes which includes a fridge/freezer, gas oven, crockery, and cutlery.

It has its own undercover braai facilities on the spacious veranda. A braai grid and braai tongs are provided to prepare your food in a truly South African way if you choose the self-catering option. A large, covered porch designed to overlook the vast landscapes, passing wildlife and millions of stars will take your breath away. 

Zebra Cottage is situated in a more secluded part of the reserve. This chalet is perfect for a couple looking to be more private. This chalet offers the same facilities and amenities as the Springbok chalet, but does not have a thatch roof, and only has a bath for soaking away the stresses of daily life. 

2 BEDROOM THATCHED CHALETS

Eland, Gemsbok, Steenbok, Rhebok, and Kudu are our quaint two-bedroom thatched family chalets which provide the privacy that allows you to enjoy the vastness of the karoo landscape whilst relaxing in well-fitted, stylish accommodation. Each chalet has a double bed in the main bedroom, and two single beds in the second room, with a shared bathroom. The bathroom has a shower-in-bath with eco-friendly guest amenities and bath towels provided.

LUXURY TENTS

Our two luxury safari tents offer a unique and secluded nature break that is affordable. The luxury tents are situated about 2km from the main lodge, teeming with wildlife and birdlife. You are truly alone in the wilderness, far from other guests and tucked out of sight. 

Facilities include a romantic queen size bed furnished with percale linen, comfortable tent inner furniture, and solar lighting for night-time reading. 

Attached to the tent is a bathroom with flush toilet, basin and a bath with hot water. A small kitchen is adequate to prepare small meals on a 4-plate gas oven, alternatively you have a small boma to prepare your food or just enjoy relaxing by a bonfire. A 12v upright fridge/freezer is provided. The “stoep” outside your tent has wooden furniture to relax and enjoy the scenery.

High clearance vehicle required. Please specify if your booking is for a special event or occasion.

MEAL OPTIONS AT OUR RESTAURANT

Meals are served in the dining area for guests who have booked meal plan options with their accommodation. If you are self-catering and wish to book for a meal, this can be arranged at Reception. (Meal plan options for all accommodation include self-catering, bed & breakfast, or dinner, bed & breakfast.) All meals need to be booked in advance.

We serve hearty, healthy South African fare. Dinner is a set 3-course menu. The premises are licensed to sell liquor and we stock a variety of excellent local wines from the Breede River valley.

WHAT IS MEANT BY OFF-THE-GRID?

Please note that our lodge is completely off the grid. We make use of a solar power system which does not provide enough electricity to use appliances (such as hair styling equipment, toasters, microwave, phone chargers, etc). 

Guests are welcome to make use of the plugs at the main lodge area to charge their phones or use an eco hair dryer (available at reception). Free Wi-Fi is also available at the lodge, but cell phone reception are only available at viewpoints.

 

Conferencing @ African Game Lodge

African Game Lodge welcomes guests for corporate getaways and conferences in a relaxed environment. Small groups of 8-15 can be accommodated in the conference room.

Conference Venue Hire includes the following: Venue, Data projector, WiFi, Screen/whiteboard, Flip Chart, Water, Mints, Tea/coffee, Snacks and Light Lunch.  Kindly contact the property for further enquiries and rates.

 

Weddings & Functions @ African Game Lodge

Our venue, situated in a pristine valley surrounded by the spectacular Langeberg Mountains, can accommodate up to 32 guests, which makes it the perfect venue for an intimate bush wedding or private elopement. 

This will not only be a wedding day but a wedding weekend with friends and family to remember. Imagine the perfect vows in a mystic bush chapel, following a rosy sunset and Elands grazing in the background...

Our dedicated wedding co-ordinator, together with the staff of African Game Lodge, strive to go the extra mile to make sure that all your requirements are met during the big day and that you both enjoy every second.

Activities @ African Game Lodge

Nature & Game Drives – Join us for the morning- or afternoon drive to explore the far reaches of our reserve. A leisurely drive enjoying the fresh outdoors and looking out for the various antelope species that are found on the reserve. 

Hiking and Nature Walks – We have several hiking trails to suit all levels of fitness from short walks to day trails

Mountain Biking – The jeep track trails at African Game Lodge are ideal or exploring by Mountain Bike and there are several longer trails that you can enjoy, as well as do some game viewing at the same time
