Porcupine Peak Farm - Self Catering Accommodation with beautiful views of the Langeberg Mountains in the Koo Valley, Montagu, Route 62

Porcupine Peak is nestled in the mountains as you descend the Rooihoogte pass, into the beautiful Koo Valley near Montagu on the Route 62.

This 500 ha of rugged Karoo rock and shale terrain offers magnificent mountain vistas of the Langeberg Mountain range, indigenous Fynbos, a river lined with majestic old oak trees, both pecan nuts and a pear orchard, along with a perennial spring of bottling quality water. 

Fauna includes the rooikat, duiker, did-dik (buck), porcupine, wild rabbits, tortoises and frogs. The Black Eagle is often seen circling above Porcupine Peak, one of the many bird species that can be spotted on the farm.

The Sandstone Cottage - Sleeps 4

Spacious cottage with large main bedroom, living area and bathroom. Full kitchen including oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, filter coffee machine, pots, pans, tea, instant coffee and sugar.

The lounge has large leather couches with an indoor fireplace. The open plan living area has one/two single beds depending if needed. Dstv (limited bouquet). Own braai on stoep outside with a great mountain view. 

The Riverside Cottage - Sleeps 2 

The ideal romantic hideaway! There is an indoor fireplace for chilly winter nights. The double bed has luxury linen and a beautiful view through the French doors which open to a wrap around balcony. The bathroom has a shower and towels are provided.

The kitchen has a two-plate gas range, fridge, toaster, kettle, coffee plunger, pots, pans, tea, coffee and sugar. It has its own fire pit on which to braai and a pile of wood is supplied for your arrival. 

The Sandstone Cottage - Sleeps 4

The Sun Gaze Cottage - Sleeps 4 (in two bedrooms)

There are 2 bedrooms with luxury linen, and there are drawers for storage. The bathroom has a shower.

Kitchen has a two-plate gas range, microwave, fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle, pots, pans, tea, coffee and sugar.
All beds have luxury linen, and there are drawers for storage. Eating area with table & chairs and the lounge area has a large leather sofa and Dstv (limited bouquet). Own braai area and stoep outside. 

The Watercolour Cottage - Sleeps 4 (in two bedrooms)

The evening view over the mountain range in the setting sun gives this cottage its name. The Kitchen has a two-plate gas range, microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, coffee plunger, pots, pans, tea, coffee and sugar.

There are two bedrooms and all beds have luxury linen. There are drawers and a cupboard for storage. Bathroom has a shower. Lounge area has a large leather sofa, Dstv (limited bouquet) and a gas heater. The eating area has a table and four chairs. Own braai area with stoep outside.

The Family Cottage - Sleeps 12 - 14

Perfect for a large family or some friends, travelling together. The Family cottage is a group of cottages, which share a veranda, a lovely open lawn, with a mountain view. There are two queen-size beds, a double bed & 6 single beds. The 3 bathrooms, all have showers.

The fire pit and pizza kitchen are nearby, if wanting to enjoy the night around the bonfire together, under the stars.

The Windmill Cottage - Sleeps 4  (A double bed and bunk beds)  

A cute cabin, privately set near the top dam and close to our windmill.

Note: An optional extra is to reserve our wood-fired hot tub. It can be positioned at your cottage for you to enjoy, under the night sky!

Activities in the area

Activities include hiking, exploring the kloof and locating the source of the spring high above, mountain biking, quad biking, swimming, making your own pizza in our traditional pizza oven, picking fruit in season, and just soaking up the magnificent surroundings.

Montagu's hot springs and restaurants are 40 kms away and the well-known Aquila Game Farm, offering the Big Five, is only 50kms away.
