Welcome to Doringlaagte Camping & Chalets, situated only 3 kilometres outside of Montagu on the famous Route 62, Klein Karoo. Doringlaage is the perfect family getaway and for everyone that enjoys the outdoors. Activities include fishing, canoeing/paddle boats, hiking, 4x4, mountain biking and our very own golf course!

Doringlaagte Accommodation

Doringlaagte boasts ten self-catering chalets and lovely camping sites under the trees, all bordering our dam. 

Camping

The campsites are all grassed with lots of trees for shade and all sites have electricity. Although every camping spot includes a “raised braai drum”, please ensure you bring your own braai grid. Rubbish bins are found all over the campsite. We also suggest you bring along a long extension lead. The ablutions are of a high standard and there is a communal washing up area. 

No loud music and no music out of cars. No animals (high season or busy weekends). No children under 21 without their parents.  Wood and ice are available to buy.

Rates

• R190 per person per night
• Children:  High School - R120 per child / Primary School - R80 per child / Children aged between 1-5 are free.
• Mid Week Special ~ Monday to Thursday - R150 per person per night. 
• Arrival time is 10h00 / departure time is 17h00
• Use of the Hot Tubs: Hot Tubs can be hired @R250 per day for a minimum of 2 days (R100 per day for additional days) Payable in cash only.

Chalets

We have 10 chalets sleeping from 4 up to 10 people per unit. Each chalet has its own lapa and wooden deck which overlooks the dam. Each chalets is equipped with Fridge, microwave oven, 2-plate stove, kettle, bedding, towels, toaster and braai grid. Please bring your own Dishwashing Liquid, Swimming Towels and Bedding for children under the age of 5. Wood and ice are available to buy.

• Children:  High School - R250 per child / Primary School - R150 per child / Children aged between 1-5 are free
• Price includes use of Hot Tub
• Mid-week Special ~ Monday to Thursday: R400per person per night. 
• Arrival time is 10h00 / departure time is 16h00 

Glamping

Our Glamping units are fully equipped like our chalets but there is no bathroom and only a 2 minute outside shower. There is one ablution block that is strictly only for the use of the 5 Glamping units.

Rates

• Glamping (minimum 2 nights) :
• R400 pppn
• Children 6-12 R100 pppn                                  
• Children 13-17 R200 pppn
• Children under 6 stay for free but provide own bedding

Please Note:

No Day Visitors. No dogs allowed (Arrangements can be made for Yorkies and other dogs during the week). Preferably no music played at all. No music after 10pm and played out of vehicles. No motorboats allowed, only boats with battery engines.

Things to do at Doringlaagte 

• The lapa has a big screen TV so you can catch all the rugby games. 
• Beach Pub open on Saturdays in winter months please come join us for an awesome time
• There is a swimming pool for guests who don’t want to swim in the dam. 
• The children can enjoy canoes, kayaks and pedal boats on the dam. 
• There is also a lovely playground, which is fenced for their safety.
• In the nearby mountains you will find 4×4 routes as well as hiking and mountain biking trails. 
• Birdlife is plentiful and sociable weavers make their nests in the trees on the banks of the dam. 
• Dad can chip and putt at the four golf greens and there’s an island green to test his nerves.
